What are camping mugs made out of?

Many of our best camping mugs are made from Titanium. Why? It’s tougher than steel, won’t rust and will last you for many many years of camping family fun.
What you don’t want in a camping mug is for it to be made from anything that’s likely to break, so this is one time to leave the fine china at home and opt for something more durable.

These mugs are tough. They’re not going to mind the knocks they’re going to take, or being dropped, and they clean beautifully and won’t retain any lingering odours from the drink inside. Even the smaller ones could be used as a food pot if you need to double up and make your mugs work twice as hard. And they retain heat really well, so it’s not surprising so many manufacturers opt for titanium for their outdoor mug.s

What are campfire mugs?

A campfire mug is a lightweight enamelled, or steel mug that you sit around the campfire with and have a hot drink. They’re what we know as camping mugs, although in all honesty they’re not the best mugs for the job.
Enamel is lovely to look at but not the hardiest of materials to take camping. Enamel can chip pretty easily and leave you with a mug that’s prone to rust. And no one wants to drink from a rusty mug 🙂
