Looking for the best kids double camping chairs? We’ve reviewed a few of our favourites and these are them. Some of these are individual chairs joined and others are of the ‘sofa’ variety, but all of them hold the novelty factor of the twin chair for kids on a camping trip, their comfortable and big enough to have a snuggle up by the camp fire as a evening draws in!
There are not a huge amount of ‘kid’ themed double camping chairs on the market, no idea why as kids LOVE these, but we’ve found kids double camping chairs are better when they’re adult sized anyway. Not sure about your kids but for us, when they want to settle down in the evenings, it’s with Mum or Dad, rarely their siblings, so the bigger sized chair is better.

Brunner Folding Sofa Action Sofa

This polyester Brunner double camping chair is a proper ‘sofa’ chair, and being fully padded is one of the most comfortable double camping chairs we’ve looked at. There’s also a feature we LOVE about this chair missing in nearly all of the others chairs, there’s no gaps at the sides and when you’re getting comfy on a chilly evening, not having a draught getting through counts for a lot.

There’s a cup holder built in on each side the kids can put their drinks in, and if you happen to be having a glass of wine while snuggling up with the kids, there’s also a handy hook next to the cup holder that works perfectly for holding your wine glass. Is this it’s real purpose? I’m not sure, but it’s works well 🙂

This chairs roomy, so it’s possible you might get more than one child joining you on it, and it’s sturdy. Being able to open and close super easily is great, and getting it back in its bag is no problem at all.

This is so well priced for the quality and comfort, and is one of the best camping purchases you’ll likely make this summer.

This Outwell Sofa has a heavy duty steel frame, so is well placed to handle a few kids piling on it. We like the high back this chair offers, it’s good for offering a little extra lumbar support and with it’s ergonomic design, this chair’s really comfortable even though it’s not got the depth of padding the previous chair has.

The frame is powder coated for resilience and the 100% polyester seat makes for easy cleaning. And this chair when folded is light and easy enough to transport and store when it’s not being used.

As with the previous chair each arm gets a built in cup holder. Unlike the previous chair this does have gaps on the sides so can feel less cosy, and a little chilly if there’s a string breeze in the evenings, but overall, this double camping chair is a good buy and will last for many camping trips.

CAMPING WORLD Double Seat

Maybe it’s the strip design or maybe it’s the colours, but this double camping chair feels like a modern remake of a vintage camping gear to me! It’s well made, being bale to take weight of up to 450lbs, so if there’s more than one little one wanting to climb up and grab a seat on this, this chair can more than handle it.

The large chair seat padded is made of high-quality Oxford fabric, waterproof, breathable and importantly, easily washable. The height of the chair cushion from the ground is relatively low, making this a good option if the kids are quite little, they can climb up on this on their own.

2 cup holders, a mobile phone holder and an extra wide seating area all help make this one of the better chairs we looked at. This is a good family buy, and just looks lovely!

This is a good quality, simple, traditionally designed chair. This chair reclines (one of the reasons we really like it!) and has a sturdy aluminium frame which is rust-proof and safe for long term use, meaning it’s going to last! This chair comes ready to take out of the the package, open and sit on, no installation’s required. When you’re done with it and want to store it, it folds flat so is really easy to slot into a gap somewhere in the garage without being in the way!

We love this chair for it’s simplicity. It’s a basic traditional design that gets the job done. This one’s going to last and last.

Kelty Mesh Low-Love Seat Camping Chair

The last chair we’ve looked at has all the feature you’d expect, looks great and is well made and will last the course. It has a slightly reclining back, something to keep in mind if you need a more upright chair, and has the obligatory cup holders in each arm rest.

This chair has a mesh design, so you may need a blanket over it on chillier nights to stop the breeze coming through. The flip side to this is that it’s great when the weathers really hot (it does happen, sometimes!) as it allows the air to circulate. Being low to the floor makes it the perfect choice for toddlers to climb on and off, but keep this in mind if you’d struggle to get up from being very low down!

There is also no support beam in the middle of these double chairs, which doesn’t make it any less sturdy but does take away the awkward ‘bit in the middle’ you can get on some other chairs.

How To Pick The Best Kids Double Camping Chair

You want your chair to be able to work for your camping trips as your kids grow, so making sure you buy a chair that’s big enough for growing kids is a must. And in this house, any camping gear we buy has got to be great quality, in fact it’s one of the most important things we look for, regardless of features. If it’s not going to last, it’s not going to work for us.

Camping chairs also need to be able to take some hard use. These are the things that get left out in the rain etc…so they’ve got to be up for the job! Comfort is also right up there on the important list. Spending the days exploring the great outdoors means we want some comfort in the evenings, so anything with badly places support bars won’t do.

All these chair are really good, and will be a welcome addition to your camping gear collection!
