Off camping and looking for some camping snacks to make ahead and take with you? We’ve rounded up some of the best right here (with a couple to cook round the camp fire too!).

What kind of food should you take camping?

If you’re going off for a weekend of traditional camping, as in a tent and not a lot else, you’ll want to be taking foods with you that will keep well, don’t need to be kept in a fridge and are going to last for a few days at least.
You’re going to need to have some airtight containers like these, to make sure there’s going to be enough to last the length of the trip, especially if you’re camping with little ones, who we all know like snack…a lot.

What foods can be prepared ahead?

Any food you’re planning to take on your trip that needs to be baked will need to be prepared and baked ahead of time, left to cool and then stored as per the recipe.

There are slices and bars and energy balls that all store really well and are suited to a camping trip, and you can easily make these ahead of time.
